FAQ's

What can I expect from counselling?

Counselling is a space where you can talk openly about whatever feels important to you. You set the pace, and we explore things together in a gentle, supportive way. There is no pressure to share anything unless you are comfortable with it.

How long does a counselling session last?

Each session lasts 50 -60 minutes.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share in counselling stays confidential. There are a few exceptions around safeguarding and serious harm, and I can explain these clearly before we begin. As a registered member, I abide by the professional and ethical guidelines of BACP.

Is your counselling space accessible?

My counselling room is on the ground floor and easy to access. There is free parking nearby, and I’m happy to discuss any access needs you may have.

Do you offer an initial consultation?

Yes. I offer a free 20-minute consultation, either face to face or online. It’s an opportunity to meet and ask questions you might have.

How many sessions will I need, and how often do I attend?

There is no set number. Some people come for a few sessions, others for longer support. We review things together as we go. Most people attend weekly, but we can discuss what suits you best.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults and young people aged 16 and above. If you’re unsure whether I’m the right person for you, we can explore that in the initial consultation.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes. I offer online sessions across the UK for those who prefer to meet from the comfort of your home or those who live further away.
